Howdy Y'all,
The transfer is winding down to an end. It was a pretty good week to say the least. On Thursday, we had our interviews with President. It was our first time to actually sit down and talk to him one on one. It went way good. I'm a lot less scared of our new President than our old one. I really didn't know President Walker too well but I'm pretty excited to be able to get to know President Miller now. After interviews, I'm pretty sure I'm leaving my area. It's not for sure or anything, but probably. We'll be getting transfer calls on Saturday night and transfer day is next Tuesday. I'm not buying any groceries this week.
Saturday, we spent most of the day painting our recent convert's room blue. We did a pretty dang good job. On Sunday, me and another Elder were suppose to speak in Sacrament Meeting along with our Ward Mission Leader. At the end of the opening song me and the other Elder noticed the Ward Mission Leader was staring at us and motioning to us to get down from the stand. As I bowed my head for the prayer I whispered to Elder Saunders, "Pssst, I don't think we're suppose to be up here". He said, "I think you're right". So we just get up after the prayer and sat in the back. No one told us before the meeting that we weren't speaking. Spanish wards... oh, well.
Actually, yesterday they changed the bishopric in the ward so that's why. They put some pretty young guys in so it will be interesting to see what happens.
Love you,
Elder Wiest
PS: Don't write any letters to the Little Flower address this week. Send them to the mission office.

Hello Y'all,
One week of straight bikes, nice. It made for a little bit of a long week butttt it wasn't too bad. It was a little bit of another slow week for lessons but we got some good things done.
Friday it rained like no other. It started and we were in our apartment and we were trying to decide if we should just go or stay in and be dry. We had to get something done so we just went out in it. Took everything out of my pockets and put everything in plastic bags in my backpack. 100% soaked in about 3 minutes. We rode through some puddles that were deep enough to cover our feet when we were peddling. NICE. It actually felt way good because it was a pretty dang hot week.
We went on exchanges on Wednesday, which was good. I like getting out of my area every now and again.
I got a hair cut this morning.
The other Elders took our recent 77 year-old convert out on exchanges. They visited one of their attractive investigators and Johnny was amazed. He keeps telling us we should take her home with us. "If I was your age..." I freaking love that guy. He had all his friends over yesterday for after-Church nachos...him and us 6 Elders. He loves us. Of course, I made the nachos because I'm the best cook. He is a funny guy. He got a bike so now he can be like us. Hopefully, he gets his license today.
We have one-on-one interviews with President this week so I'm looking forward to that. Transfers are in 2 weeks and I'm pretty sure I'm heading out of this area. We'll see, though. ay te watcho! Everything is good with the companion but I'm going to be ready to change at the end of the transfer.
I got a sweet letter from Aunt Jerri completely written on toilet paper, very creative. She says she got as Apple desktop. Nice.
You need to send my love to Brother Winter and Burl. I miss those guys.
I'm going to write President then send some pictures. I love you lots.
Love,
Elder Wiest

Hi,
Wellllllllllllll, things are still going good. Very sweaty. We did have the car all last week so that was nice but the trade off is that all this week we'll be on bikes.
Probably the best part of last week was our baptism on Saturday. We baptized a 10 year-old girl that the missionaries have been teaching for a while. She finally felt ready and was baptized. It was actually really nice. Also, the other missionaries had a baptism on Saturday with ours. There is a little story behind that one. At the end of May when we had transfers my companion was coming all the way from Tucson so for half that day I tagged along with the Zone Leaders. We had a little bit of extra time in the middle of the day sooo we went and knocked a few doors. Long story short, the lady we found when tracting was baptized on Saturday. She is a way cool lady, a little crazy but really awesome and super happy now. So 2 baptisms for barrio 12 this weekend.
Not too much else happened this week, just lots of humidity. We had one investigator at Church yesterday so we are always happy about that.
I was thinking of missionaries and things we buy. LIST TIME! Things missionaries buy but don't need: Ties, sunglasses, cheap suits/slacks, cologne. Things missionaries need but don't buy: Car washes, toilet paper, helmets, vegetables. Yes, we ran out of toilet paper this week. Yikes.
The thunderstorms here aren't as good as in Minnesota but I think there is more rain with the ones here. They're fun but not so much on bikes.
Send my love to Tad and Kyle Willhite. Tell Julie "thanks" for the cash money! A big shout out to Elder Furniss and Elder King...my ORIGINAL tracting buddies!! Tell everyone "Hi" for me.
Love ya,
Elder Wiest

Welcome to Albuquerque!
We had a pretty good week this past week. We are officially in the New Mexico Albuquerque Mission. We had a little zone conference/meet and greet with the new president and his wife. His name is President Miller and he is from Kansas City. He definitely seemed a little overwhelmed and timid but I really like him. He's going to be a good president for sure.
I really don't think very much is going to change. Besides the 3 zones from the Tucson Mission, there are only 9 Spanish areas in Albuquerque and 2 of them are Sister areas. In just our El Paso zone we have 7 Spanish areas SOOOOO I'm probably not even going to go very far. I'm okay with that, though.
We had some crazy rain storms this week and lightning. It was super nice to get some water down here. Much needed. The El Paso drainage system doesn't really exist so most of the roads were mini lakes for a good 24 hours. With all that water it got mega humid. Yummy.
This weekend we should be having a baptism for a 10 year-old. Fingers crossed.
I'm up to 70 bottle caps.
For the 4th of July we couldn't do much. We were told to finish work at 7:00pm and so we joined the other Elders from the district. Our district has a new hobbit, not hobby but hobbit, Soap Carving. So we did some major soap carving for the 4th of July.
I'll write more about our investigators later.
