Hola,

Well, the biggest news of the week is transfers. I am getting transferred. I'm not going very far though, just over the mountain (Hondo Pass). My new area literally borders the area I'm in right now but there is a mountain in the middle. I'll be teaching both English and Spanish so that will be cool. It's an English ward and a Spanish branch. The area is huge, I guess, and they have some baptisms coming up so that is awesome. I'll be a District Leader over there, which isn't as awesome. My companion will be Elder Kornelio. He's Hawaiian. Most importantly, my new apartment will have carpet!!!! First time in a year.

This past week was just kinda weird. My companion was sick for awhile.

Fernando is still doing very good. I'll be close enough to be able to come to his baptism.

Elder Jenne will be home it two days. I'm going to miss that kid. We went out to breakfast this morning. The best thing about when an Elder goes home is that they give you tons of stuff.

We saw a tank this week. I need a haircut.

Hola,

Happy President's Day! Luckily for us today is a snow-day make-up day so the college library is open.

This past week has been pretty busy. I went on exchanges twice this week, once with Elder Berdan and once with Elder Powell. Me and Powell made tie-dye shirts.

This week we taught tons of lessons. The following is our exciting story for the week:

Last Sunday we went knocking after Church. The last trailer we knocked on we found this kid named Fernando. We went over to his house again with a member on Tuesday and had a great lesson with him. We set a baptismal date for the 12th. We have taught him every day since. He just keeps wanting us to come over. He is reading a lot and basically received his answer that first night after he prayed. Fernando came to Church on Sunday and then came to a baptism after the services. I don't really have any doubt that he'll be baptized. I'm pretty excited for him.

We have a ton of investigators. I spoke at the baptism yesterday. I don't really write talks anymore, I just think and make it up as i go.

Two Sundays in a row members have bought us pizza for dinner.

We get transfer calls on Saturday.

Hola,

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

I spent a lot of this past week not in my area. Monday to Wednesday I went to Chaparral and worked with Elder Padron. Chaparral, New Mexico is the world's largest trailer park. It's awesome! Then we had Zone training, District meeting, and interviews on Wednesday. That was fun. Everything went pretty good. Speculation...I think I'm getting transfered. We'll see.

On Friday, I went on exchanges with Elder Cuello. We always have fun. While I was over there I went tracting with the emeritus Assistant to the President, Elder Ellsworth. Good times.

On Saturday, we worked hard. We went to a birthday party for the kid of one of our investigators. Some members were there, too.

I can't think of much other cool stuff to say. We are just working hard. We've got lots of good people we are teaching. I'm excited for them.

PS: Tell Grandpa Stan that a dog peed on my companion last night.

Hola,

This past week was nuts! It got really, REALLY cold and caused a lot of problems. It snowed again, more than the first time. All the days kind of mixed together last week but it was really cold for about three of them.

On about day two of the mega cold, pipes started freezing and bursting. We lost our water for about two days we kept losing power. At one point all the Elders in my district didn't have water. I usually only shower once a week, anyway, so it wasn't much of a problem. Basically, everyone we talked to lost water at some point. Then it got back into the 60s. We drove by True Value and Ace Hardware and cars were parked out on the highway. THEN, El Paso went into a water emergency and they told us not to shower even if we had water. Now the water is contaminated so we have to boil the tap water to drink it, but that's not really a problem either because I just drink soda or Hawaiian Punch.

We taught a ton of lessons, though, and had a pretty successful week. As of now, I'm on exchanges with Elder Padron and we are going to tear it up in Chaparral. Tomorrow we have a District meeting and interviews with the Mission President. The Dry Cleaners has been closed for about a week so I haven't been able to pick up my suit so I might have to wear the dirty one to my interview. Whoops.

One cool story: We found this girl 3 weeks ago but finally got to teach her on Saturday. They always tell you the First Vision can be really powerful and bring the Spirit. We were teaching her and we got to the First Vision. After I was done she said, "Wow, that's beautiful". I asked her how she felt about what she heard and she said, "Well, I don't know if this is weird but I feel like I'm not alone. I know I'm not alone, like someone is with me." It was cool. She'll probably get baptized.

Anyway, I love you. Stay warm.

PS...Don't go tracting on Super Bowl Sunday. "Maaaaannn, it's the Super Bowl!"

Hola,

This week was alright. Nothing too exciting happened, I don't think. We've been working hard. Tuesday and Wednesday I had leadership training, which was pretty cool. We talked a lot about setting dates and painting the picture for investigators, helping them see the blessings. We also talked about revelation through the Book of Mormon and through the Spirit, and all kinds of good stuff.

Someone bought us BK this week.

I don't have much to say for this week. Just working, then planning, then sleeping. Then over again.

On Friday I taught a family night thing at the Church. The Missionaries and Ward Mission Leader are doing family nights once a month. I talked about scripture study and family scripture study. It went good. Then we played Book of Mormon charades. Members are suppose to bring friends but they haven't yet, soooo.

Then on Sunday I guess the Primary teachers didn't show up or they were just with everyone else for the 5th Sunday, but me and Elder Thomas and Elder Powell were asked to teach the Primary. We taught the Plan of Salvation. Scary.
